שבע בשנקר: Somaesthetics and the Art of Eating | מרצה: Richard Shusterman

What distinguishes the mere act of eating from an art of eating? What kind of art is the art of eating? To what extent does such an art depend on the qualities of the objects one eats? What qualities are demanded of the subject who practices eating as an art?

What are the different aspects of the art of eating, and what are the different ways such art engages the somatic subject and requires somatic skill and sensitivity? How can somaesthetics contribute to a better understanding of the art of eating, and how can the study of the art of eating reciprocally enrich the field of somaesthetics. This lecture examines these questions and others.
