ד"ר פלמן הוא מרצה בכיר בתואר השני לעיצוב ועמית מחקר בטכניון. תחומי המחקר וההוראה שלו הם: חשיבה סביבתית, פילוסופיה של מדע, מטפיזיקה, פילוסופיה של השפה, ופילוסופיה של הטכנולוגיה. לד״ר פלמן דוקטורט מאוניברסיטת לונדון (UCL) ופוסט דוקטורט מהאוניברסיטה העברית. לצד פרסומיו בכתבי עת בינלאומיים, הוא גם מחברם של ׳פילוסופיה של המדע׳ (האוניברסיטה הפתוחה), ו׳ספר דרך׳ (הוצאת אסיה) שמצטרף לשרשרת הוגים שעסקו ב״אמנות החיים״ ושאפו ליישם את תובנותיהם בחייהם. מתגורר במשק האוטרקי שבנה (בקתה ושדה אקולוגיים), המשמש מעבדה חיה למחקר ופרסומים על קיימות מעשית. ד״ר פלמן מרבה להופיע על במות ציבוריות וזוכה לחשיפה רחבה בהרצאות, מדיה ופלטפורמות מחקריות, בישראל ובעולם.
