Students from the Design Faculty participated in a unique summer course at the Royal College of Art, London

Mia Helman and Lia Shimshoni, Textile Design Department students along with Keren Sasson and Michael Uskach, Industrial Design department students, participated in a unique summer course facilitated by The MA Information Experience Design,  at the Royal College of Art and with Culture Yard Denmark, in London. The collaboration was made possible to Shenkar students through PADLab, led by architect Oded Kutok and Michal Pauzner and with the support of the International Center.

The course, In Loco Parentis, led by designer and artist Charlotte Jarvis, examined the topic of “post-human reproduction”. Through the use of experimental design methodologies, the students examined the ways in which new technologies and “artificial” forms of “life” are changing our perceptions of reproduction. In the two weeks course participated from various international universities. The teams worked in small multidisciplinary groups and took an active part in lectures, tours, exhibitions and presentations.
