Implementing accommodations

  • A student entitled to special accommodations must request these accommodations up to one month before the exam date as per the provided guidelines.
  • Every student eligible for English text-to-speech accommodations must receive training in Natural Reader software at the support center. Final eligibility for accommodation will be provided only following training.
  • Please note: students must bring their accommodation approval with them to all exams!

Exam integrity

  • Every student must follow the instructions of exam proctors and act accordingly.
  • A student who uses their accommodations for fraudulent purposes will be referred to the disciplinary committee.

Appeals Committee

Should a student request to modify or add an accommodation, they must complete and submit the Request for Appeal form to the support center. It is recommended to attach additional documents to the application that have not yet been submitted. The request will be considered based on the information received. The student may be asked to present additional findings for their application to be considered.

  • Applications for appeals must be submitted no later than one month before exam period begins.
  • An appeal cannot be submitted during the first-round exam period (moed aleph).
  • Accommodations approved after appeal will be implemented ten days after the conclusion of the appeal hearing.

Exceptions committee

  • In cases where requests for exceptions are submitted, and the appeals committee’s decision is challenged, the request will be referred for discussion by an exceptions committee, consisting of the dean of students, the head of the department and/or the dean of the faculty, the head of the academic secretariat and a support center representative.

Guidance before raising issues to the teaching committee

  • A student who has been in contact with the support center and is raising an issue with the teaching committee, due to a non-standard academic situation, may obtain an opinion from the support center for the committee’s discussion.

Confidentiality

  • The center’s staff is committed to maintaining students’ confidentiality (medical/diagnostic/other). Current information is passed to the Tests Division for the purpose of implementing accommodations, which are listed in each student’s electronic file. Every employee, teachers’ aide and instructor signs a code of ethics for keeping information confidential.
  • In cases where information disclosure to relevant parties is needed to improve the student’s academic conditions, the student will be asked to sign a confidentiality waiver form in each instance.

Sharing information with studentsThe support center will share important information with students via email or through Meydanet — students are solely responsible for reading the messages they receive.
