Students with Physical, Sensory or Mental Disabilities

Students with Physical, Sensory or Mental Disabilities

The Student Advancement Center — HILA offers support, counseling and guidance through the accessibility coordinator, to make learning and examinations accessible for students with disabilities (physical, sensory, or mental disabilities).

  1. Request for accommodations

The process of requesting accommodations due to a physical, sensory or mental disability begins by meeting with the accessibility coordinator. You should come with updated medical certificates and documents from the National Insurance Institute or the Ministry of Health (if any).

Each request is based on a medical opinion which must be given to the attending medical specialist to complete.

Instruction form to be filled out by a medical specialist

Requests for accommodations may be submitted no later than one month before the exam date each semester. In exceptional cases, you may submit a request after this date, though accommodations may not be enacted immediately.

The accommodations will be determined according to the needs stemming from the disability and the particular educational challenges encountered in each department. The accommodations will relate to both learning methods and test-taking, and they may be temporary or permanent.

Please note: A student with a temporary physical, sensory or mental disability may contact the accessibility coordinator. Please attach a medical certificate from a medical specialist to check options for temporary accommodations.
