1. Innovation Challenge — Expo Dubai
Three student teams from different departments participated in the Abraham Accords Open Innovation Challenge organized by TOM.
The teams were chosen and supported by the Design Factory Shenkar staff, under the instruction of Daniel Leibovitz. A team of students from the master’s degree in design program won the Best Inclusive Design award for their “Lefty” project.
Lefty is a unique diaper-changing mat designed to assist those with disabilities change baby diapers with one hand.

Kyoto Startup Summer School

2. Kyoto Startup Summer School
Kyoto Startup Summer School week is the largest international academic program in Japan dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship. For the second year in a row, students from the departments of design and engineering participated in the program, funded by Design Factory Shenkar.

3. Loewenstein Hospital — Graduation Project
During the 2021/22 academic year, an exciting collaborative project was launched between Design Factory Shenkar, Loewenstein Hospital and the Department of Textile Design. In the framework of the project, Shenkar student Liad Arussy designed textile solutions for humane harnessing of patients who are unable to independently hold themselves upright.
