ד"ר יגאל הופנר

חוקר ומומחה בתחום ארכיטקטורות של מערכות מבוזרות, בעל ניסיון רב בתעשייה ומרצה בכיר במחלקה להנדסת תוכנה.

ד"ר הופנר הוא בעל תואר שלישי (PhD) במדעי המחשב מאוניברסיטת רדינג באנגליה, שם גם השלים תואר ראשון במחשבים וקיברנטיקה ועבד במעבדת המיקרופרוססורים של האוניברסיטה. 

לאחר סיום הדוקטורט הצטרף ד"ר הופנר למרכז המחקר ANSA בקיימברידג', אנגליה, שם עסק כעשור במחקר ופיתוח בתחום ארכיטקטורות של מערכות מבוזרות, משם עבר למרכז המחקר של IBM בציריך.

בתום עשר שנים בשווייץ שב הופנר לישראל והחל לעבוד במכללה האקדמית של תל-אביב-יפו ובשנקר, שם הוא מכהן כמרצה בכיר.

לד"ר הופנר כ-40 פרסומים בספרים, ז'ורנלים ובכנסים בין לאומיים וכ-9 פטנטים בינלאומיים מ-IBM.
