Success in the local and international textile and fashion market is measured by the quality of products and originality of their design. And to ensure both of these, manufacturers and exporters must adhere to international standards.
Shenkar’s textile testing laboratories were established in the 1970s to provide reliable and independent testing and professional consulting services to the industry. In 1994, the international Marks & Spencer chain accredited our laboratories to perform testing to the strictest standards, authorizing them to test and certify other factories’ laboratories that manufacture their products in Israel and the region. As such, our laboratories joined a limited number of laboratories worldwide able to perform such certifications.
Our laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing testing in accordance with various international standards, among them: EN, B.S., AATCC, ISO and ASTM-D. Every test is performed efficiently and quickly, with full confidentiality.
The laboratories offer a range of professional services:
- Testing physical and chemical qualities of threads and fabrics, such as thread count, thread and fabric strength, piling, wear, qualitative and quantitative makeup of fibers, and fabric and color durability to washing, abrasion, sweat, light, sea water, pool water, and more.
- Testing product durability based on specifications, and providing opinions regarding product quality suitability to specific requirements of the ordering party. This service satisfies the demands of factories exporting products abroad with specific testing requirements and of importers who wish to test products against their specifications.
- Finding the cause of defects and consulting regarding possible solutions, e.g.: chemical damage to fabrics, stripes in a knit fabric, etc.
- Writing product, fabric or process specifications.
- Manufacturing process technological consulting.
