Principles for Awarding Research Hours
- Faculty members will submit their research programs according to the criteria listed above.
- The committee is authorized to lower the number of lecture hours by up to four hours per week for a period of one year, on condition that the number of lecture hours does not drop below eight weekly hours for a full-time employee.
- Faculty members who have been approved for research hours in prior years are required to submit a progress report at the end of the first semester and a summary report at the end of the second semester.
- In the case of a renewed request to perform research, the committee will examine the summary report and the level of research from previous years. The quality of the report will be one of the considerations when approving research hours in the present year.
- One research project may not benefit from both a decreased number of lecture hours and payment of a research grant.
- Faculty members may submit research programs for approval every year, without limitation.
