Department of Software Engineering: Specialization Tracks
Here at the Department of Software Engineering at Shenkar, we make sure our engineering classes are taught at the highest possible level in order to cultivate creative and highly skilled engineering professionals. Our experience has shown that for students to excel in software engineering, the curriculum must include cutting-edge academic content as well as hands-on practice sessions.
The specializations at the Department of Software Engineering:

The software engineering specialization tracks at Shenkar are approved by the Council for Higher Education.
However, we do not stop there. As the department with the highest-paid alumni in the country, we must provide our students with all the tools they need to get hired by top-tier tech companies, enjoy high wages and good benefits, and become outstanding developers. This is why, in addition to their specializations, software engineering students at Shenkar choose two out of four development workshops in their third and fourth years:
- Big data system development in Python-Flask
- Complex databases (DBA)
- IoT development in Arduino
- Mobile development in React Native
Today’s students are not shy about making their wishes known: They want more, and more specialized, hands-on academic courses. We hear our students loud and clear. In light of the success of our specialization tracks, fourth-year students now choose one additional course from a specialization other than their own to broaden their horizons even further.
The specializations at the Department of Software Engineering at Shenkar are practical, focused on cutting-edge tech knowledge, and taught at a very high level. In addition to the specialization and development workshops, the students submit a graduate project in their chosen specialization with the help of a faculty member knowledgeable in their chosen field. The projects are the natural culmination of the students’ specialization tracks.
The final two years in our software engineering program include hands-on courses and provide students with an impressive professional toolkit and help them create their portfolio to get them ready for work in tech.
The Department of Software Engineering at Shenkar continues to excel and help outstanding talent make the transition from academia to the tech industry. At the end of their studies, our students are awarded a B.Sc. diploma, the right to have their names added to Israel’s Register of Engineers, and a separate certificate for completing their specialization.
