The Maslulim Project

For the last two years, students from Shenkar have been volunteering with the nonprofit “Maslulim”, which works to reduce disparities among children from Israel’s geographic and socioeconomic periphery.

Throughout the year, the students volunteer in learning centers and kindergartens and assist in the organization’s day-to-day activities.

Over the summer, students took an active part in preparation activities for first grade classes in Or Yehuda and Bat Yam. Despite their busy lives juggling school, work and homework, the students happily showed up every day, bringing good vibes and plenty of motivation to help in whatever way they could. They welcomed the children in the morning, helped them with various activities, played with them at recess, and acted as sympathetic ears. They were a significant workforce for the staff too, helping them in every possible way. The educators themselves attested to this, saying they wished the amazing volunteers could come all year round.

A big thank you and lots of appreciation to the students—it would have been very difficult to carry out the summer activities without their hard work and dedication. Well done!
