Students from Shenkar’s Faculty of Engineering participated in the Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence Hackathon at HNU – University of Applied Sciences, Neu Ulm, Germany

Shenkar’s Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with the Shenkar International Center,, participated in an international entrepreneurship hackathon, on the topic of Artificial Intelligence & Entrepreneurship. The event was organized by ISUL – International Start-up League, and hosted by HNU University of Applied Sciences in Neu-Ulm, Germany.

In today’s employment world, companies and organizations need experts and managers who can think, act and network internationally. Therefore, it is of central importance, especially in the context of academic education and training, to promote international thinking and work at different levels and i networking. The goal of ISUL is precisely this – to prepare students for the employment environment of tomorrow, which emphasizes flexible forms of work, social and professional networks and strong international collaborations. In addition, it aims to develop skills of entrepreneurial thinking and action.

Shenkar is a permanent member of ISUL, alongside academic institutions from various countries in Europe, Canada, South America, and Israel. This year marks Shenkar’s third participation in the hackathon, hosted at ISUL’s parent institution, HNU – the University of Applied Sciences in Neu-Ulm, Germany.

Ten students from the Software Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Polymer Materials Engineering, and Chemical Engineering departments, accompanied by Roei Zerahia, a senior faculty at the School of Industrial Engineering and Management and head of the Hub Shenkar, and Anat Yaari, director of the Shenkar International Center, participated in the hackathon.

The students worked in multidisciplinary and nationally heterogeneous work groups and carried out tasks assigned to them by two German companies operating internationally – Peri Group and SYFIT. They attended lectures, explored the city and toured a local brewery and so much more, but most importantly, they acquired skills and created social networks with students from Germany, Canada, Belgium and Israel.
