Shenkar College Holds Second Annual NFT ISRAEL Conference

Over 2,000 online viewers and 300 in-person guests participated in the second annual NFT conference, held at Shenkar College this month!

The conference, a collaboration between the ACT Shenkar Center for Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the Blockchain Center of Excellence at the Israeli Chamber of Information Technology, dealt with core issues in the field of NFT, such as groundbreaking projects, commercial use of NFT, investments and others.

“We are gathered here today to discuss this journey through the blockchain to the metaverse, and what is, at least from our perspective, the shiniest chariot in the race – NFTs,” said professor Sheizaf Rafaeli, president of Shenkar, in his opening address.

“Some of the most interesting things written during the Space Race, when space was the frontier, were the works and prophecies of Arthur C. Clarke. 2001, A Space Odyssey is based on his writing, and he was also the first to envisage satellite communication, which plays a central role in blockchain.

One immortal quote by Clarke is that “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”  I think we can all admit that that’s how we regard NFT, it’s some sort of magic, a magic we can’t always understand, that most people can’t do, that many stare at slack-jawed, that is appealing and intimidating at the same time. And it’s precisely for this magical quality NFT has that I think we will enjoy discussing and analyzing this technology, for the second year in a row.”
