Six students from the Digital Technologies in Health and Medicine specialization track of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management, accompanied by Dr. Yael Pedro and Dr. Meira Levy, participated in Startup Camp One Health International Week, which took place at HNU – University of Applied Sciences in New Ulm, Germany.
Students and faculty, sharing an interest in innovation in the field of health, met during the intensive course and were given the opportunity to delve into the topics of startups and ‘One Health’ while learning about digital innovation in medicine. Participants worked in interdisciplinary teams on fascinating and interactive tasks and were able to actively contribute their ideas and learn valuable skills for the future.
For four intensive and action-packed days, our students worked shoulder to shoulder in teams with students from Austria, Germany, Finland, Bulgaria and Israel. They tackled real challenges in the healthcare world, developed creative, smart and meaningful technological solutions, and were exposed to an intensive and professional work environment that required creative thinking, cross-cultural teamwork, and real-time challenge management – skills that are at the heart of the education we believe in at Shenkar.
Beyond the solutions, presentations and high professional level, there was also a special spirit. Our students stood out in their ability to think differently, work together, lead, listen, support one another and present themselves in the most human and inspiring way possible. In such a complex time, seeing this generation represent Shenkar and Israel with pride, sensitivity and excellence was a true reminder that we can be proud of our students and the hope they bring.
