Admission requirements for the multidisciplinary art school

The School of Multidisciplinary Art at Shenkar was founded in 2008, since when it has established its position as one of the most outstanding in its field in Israel. Studies at the school offer a wide variety of specializations and experiences: from photography and painting, through sculpture, to videography and digital processing. The strong connection between Shenkar’s design and engineering faculties exposes students to a variety of concepts and technologies, expanding the tools at their fingertips and enriching the multi-disciplinary art context.

  • Registration for the 2023/24 academic year is open! Selection dates will be updated

Along with studio experience, during their studies, students also acquire comprehensive and in-depth knowledge about the history of art, an understanding of theoretical questions at the heart of cultural discourse, and an ability to perform research and express themselves both orally and in writing. Many of the school’s graduates have integrated into the arts in Israel and worldwide, and have already presented solo and group exhibitions, some working together in artists’ groups.

The School of Multidisciplinary Art admission criteria and acceptance process:

  • Candidates for the School of Multidisciplinary Art must be eligible for a matriculation certificate and pass the entrance exams.
  • Personal interview: Every candidate will have two personal interviews (and in some cases a third interview also), during which a discussion will be held regarding their portfolio and home assignments.
  • The portfolio: will include a variety of artworks in areas relevant to art studies (painting, sculpture, print, photography, videography, etc.), which cover the candidate’s media of interest.
