Department of Textile Design

The Delta-Galil – Dov Lautman Departmen of Textile Design

At Shenkar’s internationally renowned and award-winning Textile Design Department, students learn how to thrive in a complex environment and in an era defined by technological and climate change.

Through hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies available within the department, industry collaborations, and engagement with pressing environmental and social issues — alongside the development of advanced design skills and a personal creative language — our students gain a contemporary and versatile toolkit that opens up a world of opportunities.

From textile design for fashion and knitwear, to the development of textile-based products, smart textiles that report real-time data, and materials that respond to light, heat, and humidity — this is just a glimpse into the fascinating realm contemporary textile designers work in.
