The Leap Track
The Department of Software Engineering at Shenkar is open to candidates who wish to become sought-after professionals in the highly lucrative software and tech industries.
Candidates who missed the registration deadline last October can still begin their software engineering studies in the spring semester this year.
The leap track enables students to begin their studies early, in the spring semester, and complete the program’s course requirements in three and a half years. Students then take an additional year to work on their graduation project.
The Department of Software Engineering’s graduate projects are renowned for their world-class engineering and technical quality. Students work on the projects in teams for a year and two months. While they work on their projects, the students also attend the graduate project seminar course, where they present their progress throughout the semester.
The leap track is designed to enable students to complete all courses in the software engineering program in three and a half years and dedicate the remaining year to the graduate project as they take their first steps in the tech industry. Alternatively, students may choose to spread their studies over four and a half years, lightening their course-load.
Shenkar’s leap track students are a tight-knit, supportive community of motivated and talented young people. All leap track students begin their studies in the spring semester. The entire group gets together in once class: Programming 1: An Introduction to Computer Science, which takes place on Thursdays from 12:00 to 19:00. In the summer semester, the group takes the next course, Programming 2: System Programming.
In the second year, the leap group stays together, taking first- and second-year courses. By keeping the group together, the leap track encourages students to form social and professional connections.
