Wood and Metal Workshop

Wood and Metal Workshop

The wood and metal design workshop allows students to learn how to produce prototypes/models of the objects that they design over the course of their studies.

Working with a variety of materials is part of the learning process and helps the students to develop the type of awareness and thinking necessary to turn them into successful designers in the industry. At the same time, this provides students with knowledge regarding the safe use of tools, as well as an understanding of various work-processes.

During the first semester of the first year, students from the design departments undergo special, concentrated training, at the end of which they are certified to operate the saws, lathes, milling machines and dozens of other unique tools.

In addition to the professional machinery, the workshop offers a library of materials, which is expanded every year by the students as part of the learning and creative processes.

The courses are taught by the manager of the workshop Alon Lichtblau (a mechanical engineer by trade), along with a team of staff.
