Nimrod Astarhan is an artist, technologist, and lecturer.

He teaches the “Art in the Digital Age” course at the School of Multidisciplinary Art at Shenkar. He also co-teaches the specialized cross-disciplinary course “Living Systems” in the faculties of design, art and engineering at Shenkar.

An artist who works in sculpture and digital media, he has participated in exhibitions and initiated group projects in Israel, Germany, and Belgium, and worked on commissions for museums, biennales, and international festivals.

His most recent exhibition venues have included the Israeli Center for Digital Art, the Die Digitale Festival in Düsseldorf, and the 8th Conference on Computation, Communication, Aesthetics & X (xCoAx).

Trained as a software engineer, Astarhan worked in the software industry, leading start-up teams and designing solutions, for over eight years before he ultimately committed to his artistic practice.
