Dr. Michal Kraizberg


Modern art, gender, fashion and clothing researcher, teaches in the Cultural Studies Unit and advises students in Master's degree design program on fashion theory and history.

Kraizberg completed her Ph.D. Studies in the Multidisciplinary Arts Program at Tel Aviv University, where she earned her MA in Art History with a specialization in French modern art.

Her doctoral dissertation integrates research from four disciplines: Psychoanalytical gender theories, interior spaces and modern art theory. In the course of her doctoral studies, she was awarded the Rector’s Scholarship for Outstanding Students two years in a row (2013-2014, 2014-2015). 

Kraizberg's research and lectures deal with history and critical interpretation of fashion and clothing as identity mechanisms from a sociocultural perspective. Meanwhile, she teaches courses in her areas of expertise at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, including: Reconstruction of Historical Clothing, History of Clothing, History of Fashion and Research Methods in Fashion Design.
