A professional paper artist since 1983, specializing in folding paper (origami) and the application of folding into design. He has written 35 books about origami, folding, design and the paper arts, including the 2010 book 'Folding Techniques for Designers', published by Laurence King in London, which became an influential bestseller, translated into 11 languages. His recent books 'Complete Pleats' and 'Paper Textures', feature work by students from Shenkar.
Jackson regularly teaches students and professional designers across Europe and the USA, and exhibits his folded artworks around the world. He has worked for many international clients, such as: Disney, Nike, Tetra Pak and Saab. In Israel, recent clients include IAI (Israeli Aeronautics Industries) and Strauss (in 2016 he created the origami 'Chocolad Parah' campaign). In 2008 he curated the first paper art biennale at the Eretz Israel Museum.
His wife, Miri Golan, established the Israeli Origami Center in 1993 and they work together on many educational and public projects.
Paul is English born and he teaches in English. He says he teaches paper folding, 'Design English' and good manners. He has an MA in Fine Art from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.
