Dr. Amitay-Sadovsky Ella
An Israeli scientist, painter and video artist, lecturer at the Textile Design Department and teaches geometry of textile surfaces and pattern design.
Amitay Sadovsky began her career as a PhD Physical Chemist at the Weizmann Institute of science in Israel then at UC Berkeley, California, specializing in Material Science. She combines textiles, recycled materials and color, using her scientific knowledge, to create illusions of time and space. Her work deals with the concept of ‘everyday life’ and 'home' that is a family, identity, mundane and repetitive aspects of human life and intimacy.
Amitay Sadovsky, represented by Gordon Gallery, presented solo exhibitions at the Open Museum at Tefen, The Janco Dada Museum and The Weizmann Institute of Science. Her works are included in many private and Museum collections in Israel and abroad.
