Yonatan Amir is an art critic, researcher, and lecturer. He has published art reviews and essays in a number of newspapers, magazines, and catalogues. In 2010, together with Ronen Eidelman, he founded the online art magazine Erev Rav, of which he is still the editor-in-chief.
Amir teaches at the School of Multidisciplinary Art at Shenkar, at the Institute for Israeli Art in the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yafo, and at the Pardes Art School (a religious institution for higher education). He holds a BFA in art from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, a master’s degree from the program in cultural studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is currently writing his doctoral thesis (examining theological affinities in Israeli art) in the Department of Art History Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
