The Shenkar Faculty of Design is a unique learning center, dedicated to advancing the fields of design and art: an academic hub keeping pace with current trends, renowned for its integration and collaboration with industrial, environmental and cultural partners in Israel, as well as with Shenkar’s sister Faculty of Engineering departments.
Recognizing that a good designer cannot be confined within the boundaries of a single discipline, Shenkar has built a cross-disciplinary network that facilitates diversity of discussion and practice, expanding students’ learning potential beyond their specific department.
The academic role of the faculty is to realize the potential for advancing knowledge and practice in design research. To that end, the study programs of our design departments inspire fascinating and fruitful collaborations, international ventures, projects with industry and social/institutional/environmental initiatives — all contributing to the corpus of knowledge, theory and practice in various professional fields.
Alongside the seven departments of design granting bachelor’s degrees (B.Sc.), the faculty also offers unique master’s in design degree programs (M.Des.) that include a curriculum and optional thesis in multidisciplinary design, and a master’s degree in digital game design and development — the only one of its kind in Israel.
Candidates for bachelor’s degree programs in departments of design must hold a matriculation certificate and participate in selection exams. For full details of the admission requirements, click on the relevant department:
