2022 End-of-Year Events at Shenkar: Meeting Point

7/7/22 - 18/7/22 The Shenkar campus: 12 Anne Frank St. / 8 Yeda Am St. / 8 Jabotinsky St. / Ramat Gan

"Meeting Point" is a core pillar of Shenkar's academic vision – a meeting point between design and engineering and between art and design, between people, between man and machine, man and material, craft and technology and between text and image.

This year, as the pandemic begins to recede, we are reflecting on the meeting point between the student and their academic institution: Did being confined at home and learning remotely affect how the students think, the topics they chose for their final project, the way they approached the material, the idea, the work processes and how it developed? Did leaving home for renewed in-person encounters with the lecturers, classrooms, workshops, and the mutual exchange of ideas that often occurs through shared learning add another layer to the creative process?

The pandemic refined and brought into sharper relief the meeting point between the individual and the world around them. The isolation and the accompanying understanding that the world is not inherently resilient and stable have once again highlighted the need for designers, artists and engineers. This renewed sense of purpose has also penetrated how they think and the professional skills they acquired during their academic studies.

>> The end-of-year events at Shenkar will officially open on July 7 and will include events and guided tours for the general public, with an opportunity for the different departments to display their graduate projects.

The end-of-year events at Shenkar offer a first glimpse at the creators, entrepreneurs and artists of tomorrow, and invite us to witness their talents and achievements as well as to become acquainted with contemporary trends and processes in the local and international worlds of design and engineering.

>> This year it will also be possible to sign up for guided tours of the graduate projects in the different departments. Click here to register for the tours!
